A divergence center interpretation of general symmetric Kubo-Ando means, and related weighted multivariate operator means

چکیده
It is well known that special Kubo-Ando operator means admit divergence center interpretations, moreover, they are also mean squared error estimators for certain metrics on positive definite operators. In this paper we give a interpretation every symmetric mean. This characterization of the naturally leads to definition weighted and multivariate versions large class means. We study elementary properties these means, note in particular case geometric recover A#H-mean introduced by Kim, Lawson, Lim [9].

Elementary symmetric mean Weighted elementary symmetric mean Generalized weighted elementary symmetric mean Cauchy's integral inequality a b s t r a c t A weighted generalization of a family of elementary symmetric means is given. Some elementary properties of this weighted generalization are listed. Several closely-related recent results are also discussed briefly.
متن کاملBilateral Weighted Fuzzy C-Means Clustering
Nowadays, the Fuzzy C-Means method has become one of the most popular clustering methods based on minimization of a criterion function. However, the performance of this clustering algorithm may be significantly degraded in the presence of noise. This paper presents a robust clustering algorithm called Bilateral Weighted Fuzzy CMeans (BWFCM). We used a new objective function that uses some k...
متن کاملInequalities for symmetric means
We study Muirhead-type generalizations of families of inequalities due to Newton, Maclaurin and others. Each family is defined in terms of a commonly used basis of the ring of symmetric functions in n variables. Inequalities corresponding to elementary symmetric functions and power sum symmetric functions are characterized by the same simple poset which generalizes the majorization order. Some ...
متن کاملConfidence Interval Estimation of the Mean of Stationary Stochastic Processes: a Comparison of Batch Means and Weighted Batch Means Approach (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Suppose that we have one run of n observations of a stochastic process by means of computer simulation and would like to construct a condifence interval for the steady-state mean of the process. Seeking for independent observations, so that the classical statistical methods could be applied, we can divide the n observations into k batches of length m (n= k.m) or alternatively, transform the cor...
